You might be in your 40s and you have started to notice that the things which worked in the past, don’t work any more. You gain weight doing the same things you have always done. You feel stressed about things you have tolerated in the past.

You are not alone and it is not your fault, your discipline or your willpower.

This is your hormones changing.

Let’s learn to honour and respect our bodies with their changing physical, emotional and biochemical needs during the stages of menopause.

And this is not easy, in our culture there is shame and stigma of ageing and especially, when we are layering on loss of fertility.

The fertile woman is the epitome of femininity in contrast to the menopausal woman. This is one of society’s perception we are dealing with.
